This group tour starts in Warsaw. You will be picked up by our English-speaking driver from your hotel. Transportation by car, minivan or small bus. First you will visit Auschwitz Nazi Concentration Camp and then Birkenau Camp located 3 km away from Auschwitz. Afterwards, the driver will transfer you to a local restaurant for lunch. You will come back to Warsaw around 21:00.
Auschwitz has become a primary symbol of the Holocaust. It was a network of concentration and extermination camps built and operated by the Third Reich in Polish areas annexed by Nazi Germany during World War II. It is a proof of cruel terror and unimaginable genocide.
Original fences, wooden watchtowers and railway ramps have been preserved. The collection of the museum contains original documents, suitcases, shoes and other belongings of murdered prisoners. Visit includes also a short ride to Birkenau camp, which functioned as a war camp, extermination camp and place from which people were sent to labour in Nazi Germany. More than 90 percent of prisoners, mostly Jews, were killed there. Birkenau was mainly destroyed by the retreating Germans.
You can carry your umbrella, extra jumper or backpack with you, but please note that the maximum size of bags and backpacks allowed to carry on the Museum grounds is 30 x 20 x 10 cm — in case you won’t need it you can always leave it in the bus.
